Happy Father’s Day to all of the Dads out there, and most especially, to the wonderful father of my three children, my amazing husband Mark. For some reason today, I’m reminded most especially how incredibly fast time goes by. I was going through some very old files, and came across this shot of my youngest.
He was two at the time, (now almost six, which is mind boggling to me) and I can’t believe how fast the time went. This is one of my favorite photos of him, I tend to prefer more somber photos, especially for black and whites. Anyway, he was such a little baby then, just tiny, and now, almost six, so grown up, so funny, so much more…well…so much more *everything*.
I know a big part of who my children are is shaped by the Dad they have. My husband Mark is everything my Dad never was. Patient, kind, a hard worker, a loving husband, a dad who is always there with them, hands on, in a way that many kids, me included, could only dream of. My parents divorced when I was just a year old, and my father was absent completely. I am so grateful, and often a bit jealous, that my children will have this amazing foundation, a good Dad, to build their lives upon. Mark is a pretty private person, so I hope he won’t mind me sharing how amazing he is with my readers.
