Sneak peek and update…

I will be on vacation for the next two weeks, returning voice mail and emails after my return on August 10th. If you want to schedule a session, send me your requested dates and times and I will get back to you when I return. If you place an order while I am gone, I will email confirmation once I am back and then get your order to you approximately two weeks after that.

Its been a sad week for me, one of my oldest friends unexpectedly lost her Mom (who was way too young at only 61) on Monday morning. Its made me miss my Mom so much more again, and knowing how my friend Heather is feeling, the hugeness of the loss, has just made this such a sad week. The funeral was today and my eyes are still sore from crying. :( I’ll miss you Barb, you were an amazing lady and truly loved. If you still have your Mom, give her a call, or a hug, or a card, and remember to treasure every day, and don’t take a single one for granted. Life is Just. Too. Short.

And, last-but certainly not least, I have a sneak peek for you K! I apologize for not having your entire gallery ready, but its been a crazy week and I hope it will be worth the wait when I return from vacation. Here are a few of your wonderful kids, really enjoyed seeing them again! Thanks so much for your patience, and for all the other clients who are also waiting for galleries, as I emailed you or told you at your session, they will be up as soon as I get back. :)

best,

Mary

some recent favorites…

Summer is flying by, and now that the 4th of July is over, it is finally warming up around here. I have been remiss (again, no surprise) in posting promised sneak peeks, so I will just pull out a few of my favorites from the past couple weeks to share. :)

A quick note, summer and fall appointments are filling up fast, only a few are left. If you are counting on a session, or  you have a high school senior who you want me to photograph before the fall—call or email NOW to get your session booked.

Now, the photos: enjoy!

Summer is finally here…

My kids and I spent the last two afternoons at Cascade Bay water-park in Eagan, thanks to an awesome season pass christmas gift from my brother Mark & my SIL Karla. Thanks guys! Some photos from my waterproof camera to show what fun we all had.

My dear daughter, above, showing off her famous ability to cross her eyes on command. I’m so proud. ;)

And, because I get *so many* emails from around the globe after I post an underwater photo, below is a link to the very affordable and fun point and shoot olympus that I use underwater! :) No, I don’t have an underwater housing for any of my pro cameras, just this fun little olympus, waterproof to 33ft, and lots of fun for boating or swimming! :)

Happy Summer!!

One of my favorite families…

I love repeat clients, getting to see how their children grow and change over the years. It is just another part of my job that I love! This beautiful, sweet little girl is one of my favorites too… when I first met her I think she was under six months old, now she is such a vibrant, busy and fun little girl! There is even a photo of her family with her big sisters & big brother in the header above, from last year! They are just a lovely family, both in appearance and in person.  Here is a sneak peek of her with Mom & Dad… I’ll have your gallery up soon!

thanks
Mary

A few more sneak peeks…

Such a beautiful newborn, and one of the most compliant pliable little ones. She slept through everything, with the mandatory pee and poop of course. ;)

And can’t forget big sister and brother! Such sweet, nice kids. Really enjoyed meeting them!

I will have more galleries up as soon as possible! :)

thanks!

Mary

Sneak peek of four adorable kids…

I’m going to try to get back to posting some sneak peeks as I edit sessions. I love to share my adorable clients with my readers, and I think its fun for the parents to have a little slice to view as they wait for their gallery!

I photographed these four delightful siblings recently, and really had such a fun time meeting them. A truly lovely family, and I’m so glad I got to work with them!

Here are a couple of shots from our session…

{oh my! over a month!} & Special Memorial Day Offer!

Oh. My. It has been over a month since I posted on this blog.
I’m truly embarrassed! I know, I know, everyone says they are busy, and me too, but this spring has been very busy in all areas of my life; photography work; including families, kids, babies, politicians and work for headshots, and also very busy volunteering at school for my kids, local politics, I’m a delegate to the state DFL convention in June and I am very excited, and projects around the house etc.
So…my blog has been abandoned. Just in case any of my previously faithful readers are still out there, I’m going to post a special Memorial Day offer below a few recent shots. :)
I shouldn’t even be posting at all, as I have five sessions I should be editing, but I felt bad when I realized how long it has been, so…a few recent shots that I still have on my hardrive.

Still there? :) Thanks!
So, my super-secret Memorial Day special for the lucky clients who still read my neglected blog and notice it:
Purchase a Gift Certificate this weekend for any dollar amount over $50, and you will get 20% more added for free!!! For example, if you purchase a $100 gift certificate this weekend, you will actually get one for $120. A $500 gift certificate would become $600! I will accept gift certificate purchases through Monday (memorial day, 5/26/08) at 7pm. Cannot be used with any other offer, and gift certificates must be used within one year of purchase. :)

To take advantage of this special offer, email me here! Include the amount you would like (not including the add’l 20%) and I will send you an invoice that you can pay by credit card @ paypal, and must be paid within 24 hours, or is void. Questions? Email at above link.
thanks,
Mary

A semi-recent session…

I keep meaning to blog about recent sessions and show some of my favorite images and life just keeps getting  in the way. My apologies to the parents of all the cute kids who I have missed. If you are feeling left out, drop me an email and I’ll try to feature your little one too. :)
Here is one from last weekend, the most adorable little brother and sister. This little guy was only 2 years old and so talkative and so into his Thomas trains and airplanes, etc. Just the smartest, cutest, sweetest little boy. A true joy to photograph and meet….

And his little sister, 3 months old, a little camera shy, but just beautiful with her big expressive eyes..

And lastly, a couple with Mom & Dad…such a charming family. Thank you!
Mary

Finally! Some photos

In random order, a bunch of photos that I’ve been saving up in my huge folder of “photos to be put on the blog”…yes, I’m a horrible procrastinator lately. My apologies… so, on to the photos:

about me…

I don’t post images of my children on here very often. I posted this on a photographers board I frequent, and then thought, why not on the blog? So, here you go: a little about one of mine…

My first baby… my oldest dear son, is going to be 10 years old in December. I was taking some shots of my three kids, all of them yesterday, jumping on the bed. He sat down on the chair by the window and looked outside, and I shot one photo of him not jumping, not clowning, just talking to me, and when I looked at it, I just gasped at how grown up he is looking. I look at him everyday of course, but as we all know, there is something about a photo.
As I say on my “about me” section on my site: “There’s a moment that happens when you look at a photograph of your child. Sometimes you laugh, sometimes you cry, but the memories always come rushing back. Those moments are what got me interested in photography in the first place. When I had my first child, I realized how quickly he flew through stages that I thought I’d remember forever, but would have been lost without the photographs.”
My gosh, is it true. I looked at him, and it was like one of those movie moments, where bam, you rush through all the memories, him in the bassinet at the hospital, him sitting up for the first time, laughing at me when he was nursing at six months with a milk dribble, him taking his first steps *finally* at 14 months old. Him holding his baby sister, then later his baby brother. Him really reading me a book at four years old, off to kindergarten, then FirstGradeSecondGradeThirdGradeFourthGrade…. all in one big fast running rush. I know any minute know I’m going to be fixing his tie at his wedding, thats truly how fast it goes. I’m so thankful for him (for all my children of course) but to just take a moment and look at him, the sweetest, kindest kid, and just realize how fast it goes, and how much I love him. *sigh*…
Honestly, in so many ways, truly seeing and then photographing my own children is sometimes a bigger challenge, than my clients kids. So, to my J. My first baby-who is growing up so fast. I love him.
thanks for reading.
