Sneak peek of Amber…

Another stunningly beautiful senior-our session arrived on a very rainy day. Amber was such a good sport about it, traipsing around with me in the rain with an umbrella! It was great to meet you, here are just a few to peek at here, and will have the gallery up as soon as possible!

And one with a desaturated textured overlay… fit with the softness of the rainy day to me-

Fall Schedule update

Weekends for the rest of 2008 are nearly booked! I do have one weekend opening left for new clients and two that I am holding for repeat clients. If you need photos for holiday gifts or holiday cards, you should email Mary as soon as possible, especially if you need a weekend session. I do still have several weekday mornings open between now and mid November, but once the weekends are full, the weekdays go fast too. All orders for holiday delivery will need to be placed by Friday November 14th for guaranteed delivery by December 14th, which is the last day for deliveries before Mary Hanson Photography closes for the holidays.

Above is a photo of one of our beautiful Press Printed custom cards that we began offering last year. These lovely cards can be flat or folded 5×7 size and have a lovely pearl finish. They have the look and feel of a high end greeting card and all sides (2 or 4, flat or folded) are custom designed by Mary. Email for pricing information.

Thanks!

Mary

Another one of my favorite families…

Many of my blog readers and regular clients will remember these two adorable children, who are all over my past blog entries of the past 4 years as well as the website:

Its so amazing to me how much they have changed in the year since I saw them last. I was completely unprepared for the tremendous transformation of their dear little sister though… this was her about a year ago:

And this was the darling little girl who I got to see now! I really don’t think it is possible for her to be any more adorable!

Well, really–all of them are just lovely–to look at, to talk to, and definitely to photograph. I’ll quit with the gushing now, and just post a couple more. :) Great to see you again, and I will have the rest up soon!

Another senior…

Such a fun session with this beautiful senior girl! Only five ready to show, but I will have the rest up as soon as possible! :)

Finishing up the seniors…

I’ve had lots of high school seniors since mid August, and I’m just editing the last three today. Here is a sneak peek of one really handsome senior guy and I’ll have more up for others waiting for sneak peeks later I hope! Thanks!

I love repeat clients….

I love repeat clients. I start to think of them as friends really. What a neat thing it is to get to see these kids grow and change every year. Its one of my favorite parts of my job, and this family is one of my favorite families, nice parents, kind & gorgeous kids, does it get any better? :)

This is almost too many to call a sneak peek, so we can call it a mini-gallery, lol. I’ll have the rest up soon Jen!

Another sneak peek…

I had so much fun in my sessions with these three beautiful kids-I love sessions like this, where Mom just lets me do my thing, chat with the kids, find out a bit about them and capture relaxed natural shots of the kids. Such truly neat kids too…really enjoyed talking to each one of them! And I know more about Godzilla than I ever thought I would-I’m going to have to check out those movies! I’ll have the rest of your gallery up as soon as possible. Thanks!

Sneak peek….Ebele

This beautiful senior girl is the oldest daughter of one of my oldest and dearest friends. They moved out of state several years ago, and live near Seattle now, but I was lucky enough to take Ebele’s senior photos when they were in MN visiting family. I cannot believe how she has changed in the 2 years since I have seen her! She is one of the neatest, smartest, most responsible and lovely senior girls I’ve met. She was one of my favorite kids since she was little, and she has grown into such a lovely young woman! I’ll have the rest of your gallery up as soon as possible. :)

Ovarian Cancer Walk–MOCA–and my Mom…

Mom & Jacob in 1998

Most people who know me know at least a bit about my Mom, Mary Andrews. She was, and still is, my hero. She raised my brother and I by herself, without any help (financial or otherwise) from my father. She was one of my best friends in the whole world, and I talked to her daily, often multiple times. She loved to laugh, loved her family-especially her kids and grandkids, loved her job as bookkeeper at the Minnesota School of Business, loved an ice cold tall vodka tonic, loved traveling with her sister Anne, loved sitting in her garden and loved so much more. She died over four years ago from one of the nastiest cancers around: ovarian cancer.  I still miss her. Every. Single. Day.

My family and I are participating in the MOCA-Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance 9th Annual Silent No More Walk/Run for Ovarian Cancer on Saturday September 13th. Ovarian cancer is one of the most deadly female cancers, hard to diagnose, hard to treat, and hard to live with. It is also underfunded for research into treatments, prevention and a someday cure. My mom survived breast cancer, and then she fought back ovarian cancer for about three years, but my family and I are walking in the hope that more money will help keep amazing women like my mom alive longer, and give them better choices to diagnose, treat and prevent this often silent killer. I’m asking anyone who is interested to donate, either directly to MOCA or by sponsoring us in the walk, by sending a check made out to MOCA to me. (Email me if you need my address) Thanks for your support, and if you still have your mom, tell her you love her today.

sneak peek…Jayne

Jayne was just lovely to photography…she is a dancer and it is so evident in the way she carries herself. Its rare for me to see such poise and elegance in someone just entering their senior year. I know I was nothing like that! :) She is obviously beautiful, but it is more than skin deep…really enjoyed meeting you! I will have the rest of your gallery completed by the end of the week!
